Trump ally warns Letitia James against legal action in second term

Mike Davis, an ally of the president-elect Donald Trumphe warned new york attorney general Letitia James not to file any lawsuits against Trump during his second term, threatening to send her to jail if he did.

“I challenge you to try to continue your fight against President Trump in his second term,” Davis said during an appearance at The Benny Show podcast. “Listen here honey, we’re not messing around at this hour and we’re going to put your fat ass in jail for conspiracy against rights. I promise you that.”

Davis is the founder of the Article III Project, a group that supports conservative judicial nominations. His name has been floated as either attorney general or White House counsel in Trump’s second term.

Davis’ remarks come after James’ press conference, addressed election results. She said her office was “ready to fight back once again,” pointing to how she had used the rule of law to fight back.

“We didn’t expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result,” James said. “And my office has been preparing for a few months because I’ve been here before. We have faced this challenge before and used the rule of law to fight back. And we are ready to fight back once again because, as the Attorney General of this great state, it is my duty to protect and defend the rights of New Yorkers and the rule of law. And I will not shirk that responsibility.”

James and the Justice Department have previously been accused by Trump and his allies of creating a two-tier justice system.
