Rain and cooler temperatures are coming

SIOUX FALLS, SD (Dakota News Now) — All eyes are on a powerful storm system that will bring significant changes to our area throughout this week. This will slowly start to arrive as we head through the rest of today. We declare Tuesday as a First day of weather alert for northern and central South Dakota as this storm system moves through.

A strong cold front will cause temperatures to drop gradually throughout the day from west to east. Rain chances will also increase across the region from west to east today. Northern and central South Dakota will see increased rain chances as we head into tonight and tonight. Highs in the north and west will remain around 60. In the southeast, we won’t see any rain today and will see highs get back into the mid 70s.

Wednesday will also be a First day of weather alert as rains and cooler temperatures arrive for everyone. We’ll only get into the 40s for highs Wednesday in the north with temperatures around 50 in the south. This storm system will finally clear Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. By the way, Halloween looks dry, but it will be much colder. Make sure you have your layers ready for your trick-or-treating costumes!
