A man has been arrested after police closed several roads in Glasgow following a “disturbance”.

Officers were called to Glebe Street in Cambuslang just after 5pm on Monday to what police described as a “contained” incident with no “wider risk to the public”.

Police advised people to avoid the area with Croft Road, Greenlees Road, Howieshill Road and Vicarland Road closed before reopening after 9.30pm.

A 46-year-old man was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Cambuslang.

“Emergency services attended the Glebe Place area following reports of a disturbance at around 5.10pm on Monday 11 November 2024.

“Enquiries remain ongoing, however the incident was contained and there was no risk to the general public.

“Officers have thanked the public for their patience and can confirm that surrounding roads have reopened.”
