Burnt Chef Project launches alert service

The Burnt Chef Project is a charity focused on supporting mental health issues in the hospitality sector.

The project has just launched a new global initiative following the commencement of the Workers’ Protection Act 2023 (amending the Equality Act 2010).

The Whistleblowing Service was developed to help workers raise issues safely through a third-party channel. This service is the non-profit organization’s latest addition.

Deliberately created to help employees in high-pressure environments, this new service will allow organizations to provide a third-party peer to their teams.

The third party concerned can be contacted directly before reporting the necessary information back to The Burnt Chef project partner, CIC wellbeing, who will help resolve the issues further.

Positive environment

The new initiative, according to Thee Burnt Chef team, will not only help create a positive environment for workers, but will also help promote a positive company culture.

In turn, this should help reduce staff turnover and therefore the team hopes to resolve issues faster for both business and employees.

Trained specialists will be on hand to handle every confidential issue, allowing employees complete anonymity and direct access to 24/7 support.

Each report submitted is set to be handled with sensitivity and professionalism, partnered with specialist recommendations and advice to help specific circumstances.

Founder and CEO of The Burnt Chef Project, Kris Hall said: “Whistleblowing in the hospitality industry is a crucial mechanism for protecting ethical practices, protecting employees and building the industry’s reputation.”
