Dangerous driving arrest of Leeds machete attack victim

A man believed to have been the victim of machete-wielding attackers has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

Reports that a man had been assaulted in Osmondthorpe Lane, Leeds following a road traffic collision, were received at around 18:30 GMT on Sunday, police said.

Initial inquiries indicated the man was attacked by two other men traveling in a vehicle that was following his car before he was involved in a two-vehicle crash near the junction with Neville Parade.

The 21-year-old man was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening head and torso injuries and was later arrested and remains in custody, according to West Yorkshire Police.

One of the other drivers involved in the collision suffered minor injuries as the suspect vehicle left the scene, a force spokesman said.

Anyone who saw what happened or had information about the incident was asked to contact West Yorkshire forces.
