Suspect arrested in brutal Division Avenue stabbing that left young man dead

WASHINGTON, DC — A Northeast DC woman has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing that took place in broad daylight on Division Avenue in September that left a 23-year-old man fatally wounded and another woman injured.

The incident happened on September 1 at around 14:53 when a man suffering from stab wounds arrived at the Sector 6 police station, desperately seeking help. The victim, identified as Gray Hall, was transported to a nearby hospital by DC Fire and EMS, but was later pronounced dead after all life-saving efforts failed.

Back on Division Avenue, officers found a second victim, an adult woman, who had also been stabbed. She was taken to the hospital with injuries that were later determined not to be life-threatening.

After weeks of investigation, members of the Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Shameka Jackson, 40, of Northeast DC, on Wednesday, November 13th. Jackson now faces a charge of second-degree murder while armed, according to police.

This arrest marks a significant development in the case, which has attracted attention due to the violence of the attack and the death of a young North East resident.
