The stalker was arrested after breaking into the victim’s home

A 55-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning, Nov. 10, after allegedly stalking and breaking into his victims’ homes, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

LCSO says deputies responded to a panic alarm in the 100 block of Oakleigh Lane in Eugene around 8 a.m. Sunday.

According to officials, a neighbor reported to authorities that a stalker, identified as 55-year-old David Ivan Piccioni, had broken into the victims’ residence. LCSO says the victim confirmed Piccioni broke in while they were sleeping.

Deputies converged on the area as Piccioni ran.

The sheriff’s office says deputies were able to quickly apprehend Piccioni and arrested him nearby on River Road, then booked him into the Lane County Jail on the following charges:

  • Violation of order of protection from prosecution
  • tracking
  • Burglary in the first degree
  • Menacing

LCSO credits vigilant neighbors who assisted the victim and deputies in this case.
