Search of Weaverville home turns up cocaine, ammunition and more than $24,000 in cash

The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) found and seized cocaine, ammunition and $24,766 in cash while executing a search warrant at a residence in Weaverville on Friday.

According to a news release, on Friday, Oct. 25, TCSO investigators and California Department of Fish and Wildlife rangers executed a search warrant at a residence located on Angel Hill Road in Weaverville. During the search of the residence, 104.4 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, digital scales, pay slips and debt, bundles of US currency totaling $24,766 and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were found and seized.

Unpermitted hazardous electrical wiring was also found throughout the residence and property, prompting the local utility company to be notified and the county building inspector and fire marshal to respond.

During the investigation, TCSO said several subjects were taken into custody, including the owner of the residence, Coy Mobley, a convicted felon.

TCSO said it was discovered that a 13-year-old child lived at the residence, but was away at school at the time. Child Protection Service workers were notified and also intervened on the scene.

Mobley was arrested and transported to the Trinity County Correctional Center for booking.
