CENTRALIA, Ill. (KFVS) – A Centralia, Illinois man is under arrest on child pornography charges following an investigation in Jefferson County.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, Nov. 12, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Leith A. Hiltibidal, 45, of Centralia, on a federal charge of distribution of child pornography .

Hiltibidal was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is currently being held in federal custody.

The sheriff’s office says the arrest was the direct result of a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigation initiated May 17 that led to search warrants for electronic equipment and the Hiltibidal residence in Centralia, which was served on July 1.

Once completed, the investigation was turned over to the US Attorney’s Office for review and criminal charges.
