JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – Arkansas State University partnered with the Jonesboro Fire Department to practice how to navigate their campus in an emergency.

JPD started on Tuesday, November 12th by giving a tour of the campus, being shown what ways they could and could not take. They also did training exercises in the afternoon.

“We’re actually going to give them notices at different locations on campus,” said Wyatt Reed, an emergency management specialist at Arkansas State University. “I don’t know what building it’s going to be,” Reed said. “Then they need to talk to each other about where they need to go and how to get to that building the fastest and safest way to best serve our campus.”

Tuesday was the first of three days of training sessions until Thursday 14 November.
