T-Mobile’s satisfaction survey shows the carrier has work to do

T Mobile Tuesdays becoming T Life

C. Scott Brown / Android Authority

Mobile operators, just like any other company out there, evolve over time. Executives come and go, priorities are reassessed, and just because a carrier might have been the best choice for you when you got your first smartphone over a decade ago, doesn’t mean it necessarily still is the right choice of carrier for you today

We were just thinking about it in context T-Mobilearguably the most underwhelming, most interesting (if that word even applies to wireless providers) of the big three in the US. At least that’s the reputation it’s managed to build in many of our minds, but is it one that’s still deserved today, or rather a holdover from better, more competitive times?

For better or worse, T-Mobile still has some pretty attractive perks — even if they tend to be more restrictive today than they were a few years ago. Our own C. Scott Brown, a longtime T-Mobile user, broke down the pros and cons of staying with the carrier, and weighing them up himself, saw plenty of reasons to stick around. But not everyone’s needs will be the same, so we put the question to you, and our results are now in:

Are you still loyal to T-Mobile?

Among those respondents who are T-Mobile users, we see a fairly even split between those who are still very satisfied with their carrier of choice and those who are just satisfied with it. However, take that with subscribers who are currently looking for a new carrier, which means over half of customers who are solidly dissatisfied with the company.

Digging into the comments, we notice a lot of former T-Mobile users who have moved on to literally greener pastures are now shouting its praises Mint Mobile. MVNOs in general are getting a lot of love and we’re also seeing a few convert to Visible.

Those of you who have come forward to share your support for T-Mobile continue to mention stellar customer support as a real highlight compared to AT&T or Verizon. This is certainly a factor that will weigh heavily on certain subscribers, but we also wonder how often most users will need to take advantage of it.

With MVNOs and alternative carriers looking ever more attractive, T-Mobile probably can’t rest on its laurels if it wants to stay competitive. And while he clearly still has plenty of fans, loyalty only goes so far.
