“I’m not going to talk about the vote because, frankly, it is Sunday before the election, and I’m not going to build support one way or the other around him,” Harris said. “But I voted.”

The initiative, if passed, would make the crime of theft a felony for repeat offenders and increase penalties for some drug charges, including those involving the synthetic opioid fentanyl. It would also give judges the authority to order people with multiple drug charges to receive treatment.

Harris also addressed concerns about the integrity of the election, telling reporters former President Trump “lost” in 2020.

“It’s meant to distract from what we have and to stand for free and fair elections in our country,” she said. “I did it in 2020. He lost. And the systems that are in place for this 2024 election have integrity.
