FORT WORTH, Texas (KAUZ) – Day five of Anthony Patterson’s trial continues Friday, Nov. 9 at the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center in Fort Worth.

The DPS special agent returns to the stand

As the fifth day of the trial continued, Texas DPS Special Agent Jacob Weaver returned to the stand.

Following the replay of a lengthy interview between Weaver and Patterson on Thursday, the testimony picked up right where they left off.

Weaver said that during the interview, Patterson lied when he told Weaver “the two kids were never at his house,” but later stated that they were only there for Halloween candy.

Weaver reviewed the items seized from Patterson’s home following his arrest, listed the following items that were purchased:

  • CBD gummies
  • Mobile phone
  • A small box containing marijuana
  • External storage devices
  • digital recorder and SD card

An HP computer and 7 flash drives were also seized from Patterson’s office.

A telephone sex worker called to testify

Phyliss Dantzler, a now 72-year-old woman, was called to testify on the stand. Dantzler was a telephone sex worker who was in contact with Patterson in 2012.

She told the courtroom that she was in her 60s at the time and that Patterson was the only person she called the police about the contents of the call.

She confessed that she, as part of her job, helps clients fulfill their “fantasies”. and that when she spoke to Patterson in 2012, he was interested in “blasphemous” calls.

Dantzler testified that during her conversation with Patterson, she became concerned about a child Patterson referred to after Patterson made the following explicit comments:

  • “I (expletive) my daughter last night you missed.”
  • “My little girl in the next room says she really loves Jesus and he really loves him.”

Dantzler testified that he made comments about breaking into “his daughter,” but that she never heard any children in the background of the phone calls.

She stated that she called the police because she was ultimately concerned that a child in the home was being sexually assaulted.

As the next witness was called to the stand, Patterson’s defense team objected.
