Second update on November 7th: The Duluth Police Department reports that they have arrested a male suspect in the string of burglaries that began on November 4th around 3:15 pm on Thursday, November 7th. It also reports that the incident remains active and under investigation and that no additional information will be released at this time.

Nov. 7 Update: On Thursday, Nov. 7, the Duluth Police Department provided updated information regarding a series of burglaries in progress. Mattie Hjelseth, public information officer for the Duluth Police Department, reported that another robbery occurred on Wednesday, November 6th in the 2500 block of E 2nd Street around 9:00 p.m.

“The initial investigation indicates that a white male entered the residence and the occupant inside fled,” Hjelseth explained. “While running, they fell and received non-life threatening injuries from the fall. Officers responded quickly and established a perimeter. After a K9 track, drone deployments and scouring the area, the male could not be located.”

Chief Mike Ceynowa is asking the community to remain vigilant and said the Department is actively trying to catch the individual.

“We share the concerns of our community and are working tirelessly to hold this individual accountable for his actions,” Ceynowa said. “We have personnel canvassing the area around the clock and will continue to use our resources and surrounding partner agencies to make an arrest.”
