Bengaluru man says a group of men attacked his car on a busy street, police responded

In response to the post, the Bengaluru police asked for more details.

A man from Bengaluru recently narrated a harrowing experience where his car was attacked by a group of men in the middle of a busy road in Kudlu area. Sharing images and videos of the incident on X, user Deven Mehta claimed the attackers smashed his car windows, threw stones and threatened him and a woman inside his vehicle – all while a traffic policeman would have watched without intervening. “My car was attacked by thugs on the busy streets of Bangalore at 7pm as the traffic police chased them breaking glasses, pelting stones and threatening us with Kudlu despite a woman in the car,” Mr Mehta wrote on X.

In another post, user X shared why the group of men attacked his vehicle. “Their bike touched my car (old car) from behind (their fault) in head-on traffic. I was looking in the mirror when they shouted in Kannada. I told them, ‘Kannada illa, no problem, no damage- aap jao”. I think they got angry at the way a Hindi man gave them instructions,” Mr Mehta said.

In response to the post, the Bengaluru police asked for more details, urging him to share his contact details via direct message. However, Mr Mehta refused to share any information, citing security concerns. “I’m sorry, I don’t want to give details because I don’t feel safe. I shared it here so that more people will stay alert and careful on the streets until we get better police and safety services,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, in the comments section of Mr. Mehta’s post, several users expressed their frustration over the rising crime rate in the city.

“Congratulations @BlrCityPolice. The city has gone to the dogs. Your inaction and silence on such matters is deafening. I sincerely hope you do better than asking the sufferer for more details,” one user wrote.

“Wow…Bangalore is getting safer by the day. Goons are given a free hand to attack people, the range of the road is increasing, everyone wants to be first on the road and show their bad driving skills, violations everywhere. Great. progress seen in India’s Silicon Valley,” commented another sarcastically.

“A few months ago, we saw an incident of road rage at the Kathriguppe signal where two bike hooligans were beating each other up at the intersection that obstructs traffic. Amazingly, the policeman was standing at his shelter, watching them. Finally, the public stepped in and stopped them,” he said. a third user.

“It’s scary how road rage is increasing in this country, but you should file a complaint or at least give details of the incident on DM. The license plate was seen by them if they want, they can dig up all the details anyway, better get the help of the cops. @BlrCityPolice,” suggested a fourth.

“It is so scary to see such events happening regularly on the streets of Bengaluru. These rascals know full well that the police can’t hurt them, otherwise they won’t dare touch/harass anyone. Blr police are powerless here,” said one user. .
