New York State Suspends Kenneth Chesebro’s Law License

An appeals court in New York on Thursday suspend law license of former President Donald Trump ally Kenneth Chesebro after he reached a plea deal with prosecutors in the sprawling Georgia racketeering case.

Chesebro was defendant alongside Trump in Fulton County last year, along with 17 other co-defendants, in connection with alleged efforts to overturn the Peach State’s 2020 election results. He was indicted on seven counts, but pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit filing false documents. He also agreed to testify in the case.

The court said the Georgia conviction “definitely meets the definition of a felony in this state.”

“Having concluded that the respondent has been convicted of a serious crime, we provisionally suspend the respondent from the practice of law in New York,” the court wrote.

It is unclear how long she will be suspended, but it was “effective immediately.”

Chesebro is still licensed to practice law in Massachusetts, California, Texas, Florida and Illinois, according to NBC News.

The New York lawyer is just one of several Trump-aligned attorneys who have had their licenses suspended or disbarred over the Georgia case. Jenna Ellis and former New York City Republican Mayor Rudy Giuliani have also experienced such repercussions.
