Six registered sex offenders arrested in Gadsden County during ‘Operation Spooky Sweep,’ FDLE says

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – Six registered sex offenders were arrested just days before Halloween during “Operation Spooky Sweep,” according to a news release from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).

FDLE and the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office led the operation to ensure that registered sex offenders and predators are complying with Florida registration laws, FDLE says. The purpose of the investigation was to “ensure neighborhoods are safe for Halloween trick-or-treating,” according to authorities.

Officials “made physical contact with more than 50 registrants who reside in Gadsden County to confirm that they continue to comply with registration laws,” FDLE says.
