LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman involved in a collision yesterday morning has died, but authorities believe she became ill before she crashed her vehicle.

According to Louisville Metro Police, the collision happened around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30. The LMPD Traffic Unit says an adult female was driving a car exiting the Gene Snyder Expressway onto Preston Highway when she apparently suffered a medical diagnosis. expedite.

Police say the car and its incapacitated driver entered the Preston Highway intersection and collided with several highway road signs before crossing a concrete median and hitting a vehicle stopped at a red light.

The woman was taken by EMS to UofL Hospital. Her injuries were described as “critical and life-threatening”. She died at the hospital around 3:25 p.m. Her name has not yet been released.

The man driving the vehicle that was hit during the collision was taken to UofL Health-South Hospital in Brooks with minor injuries.
