Apple News lets you follow the 2024 presidential election on iPhone using live events

Here’s how you can use Apple News to follow the 2024 US presidential election on iPhone using Live Events.

Apple today added a new option to Apple News that allows iPhone users to follow real-time updates on the results of the US presidential election live through Live Events.

This only works if you are in the US and only if you have devices with Dynamic Island, which means it will work on iPhone 14 Pro and later.

If you meet the requirements above, here’s how you can enable this feature on your iPhone:

Step 1: To get live updates on the 2024 United States presidential election, open the Apple News app on your iPhone.

Step 2: Tap the “Today” tab at the bottom, then look for the banner labeled “Watch Election 2024 Live” at the top or under the “Top Stories” section.

Step 3: After clicking on the banner, a pop-up window will appear once Live Activity is enabled. Election updates will then appear on your iPhone’s lock screen and in Dynamic Island.

That’s about it. Apple says the feature will go live on the night of November 5 in the US. Both Live Activity and Dynamic Island will continuously display each candidate’s electoral tally, along with Senate and House election results.
