Dashcam footage also confirmed a sighting of her walking along Graigwen Road towards Ynysybwl at around 10.05am on the day she disappeared, while another witness saw her at Twyn Y Glog in the village at around 12.45pm.

Chief Inspector Matt Rowlands said his team had “worked tirelessly to try and establish the circumstances surrounding her disappearance”.

“Officers with specialist search equipment and training carried out extensive searches for Joanne, including in wooded areas near where she was last seen,” he added.

“We also deployed the National Police Air Service, drones, Salvamont volunteers, specialist search dogs and distributed missing person leaflets to local walkers and hikers.

“We are keeping an open mind as to what happened to Joanne and are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries.”
