Pudsey Park litter pick to honor Leeds girl Matilda Pritchard

“He liked to see a bag full of trash and a clean park,” he said.

“Since her passing, we have been looking for ways to honor her legacy.

“And that, bringing friends and family and strangers together, she shines on us and it’s just wonderful to be here.”

Matilda had an undiagnosed heart condition called arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC), which Mr Pritchard said showed no symptoms until she died in her sleep.

According to the NHS, ARVC is a rare condition with an estimated minimum prevalence of one in 5,000.

Funds raised from the litter photo will go towards Keep Britain Tidy’s Eco-Schools programme, which teaches children how to look after their local environment, making a difference to where they live, which Mr Pritchard said his daughter she is passionate.
