Hyannis woman charged with DUI after hitting police car

HYANNIS — A 20-year-old Hyannis woman was charged with operating under the influence and other offenses after she crashed her car into a parked police car Saturday morning.

Gabriela Prodelik was driving when she crashed into the unoccupied Barnstable Police Department vehicle on Lincoln Road just after 1 a.m. as officers were responding to a quiet 911 call at a nearby home.

Prodelik and her 24-year-old passenger were injured in the crash and transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Hyannis Fire Department personnel.

Their injuries were reported as non-life threatening.

Authorities issued Prodelik a hospital summons for operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating without a license and speeding.

She is scheduled to be arraigned on those charges in Barnstable District Court.
