Ending paper banks will save environment and money, says minister

The Island’s infrastructure minister says scrapping banks for paper recycling is good for the environment and will save the government up to £50,000 a year.

This week in the House of Keys, Tim Crookall MHK faced questions about the end of paper banks around the island.

He said that in 2004 the banks received 1,200 tonnes – but last year that figure had dropped to less than 200 tonnes.
