KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Police have at least one person in custody who they believe is responsible for a fatal shooting near a Kansas City park.

The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department says that on Friday, Nov. 8, just after 5:10 p.m., emergency crews were called to the area of ​​N. 6th St. and Splitlog Ave., near Holy Family Park, with reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Law enforcement officials noted that a suspect was found and quickly taken into custody. Their identities have not yet been revealed.
