Three people have now been charged following an inquest into his death Liam Payne.

The statement continued: “The second defendant, a hotel employee, is accused of supplying cocaine to Payne on two occasions while he stayed at the hotel, and the third defendant, also a narcotics supplier, is accused of two additional confirmed cases of cocaine supply on 14 October. Both are accused of supplying narcotics (art. 5, section E of Law no. 23,737).”

The indictment detailed efforts to “reconstruct the days Payne spent” at the CasaSur hotel. Nine raids were carried out in the city of Buenos Aires.

“Judge Bruniard approved the searches requested by the prosecutor based on the evidence presented and took steps to refer the charges, prohibiting them from leaving the country,” the statement said. “Despite the weight of the evidence — including visual, registry, medical, scientific, documentary and testimonial evidence — investigators are continuing their work, including trying to unlock Payne’s personal laptop and other seized devices.”

Investigators gathered multiple testimonies from hotel staff, family, friends and medical professionals and reviewed more than 800 hours of footage from security cameras and other public cameras as part of the investigation. A forensic extraction was performed on Payne’s cell phone, according to the affidavit. Investigators also reviewed guest records and restaurant receipts to determine who visited Payne and analyze his drinking and eating habits.

The forensic team concluded that Payne’s death was caused by “multiple trauma” and “internal and external bleeding” from his fall. “Three additional medico-legal reports requested by Madrea confirmed that all injuries were consistent with a high fall, ruling out self-harm or the involvement of a third party. Argentinian newspaper Clarin reported Thursday that an unidentified friend of Payne’s had been linked as a possible supplier following the investigation by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office in Buenos Aires.
