A woman from Monroe Co. accused of stabbing her husband was arrested

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman Thursday for allegedly stabbing her husband in Bedford Township.

Dispatchers received an initial call around 2:20 a.m. from a man asking officers to respond, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The caller did not answer and hung up at first, but told dispatchers he had been stabbed after several additional calls, according to the affidavit.

Deputies found the man with a knife in his hand at the scene in the 6800 block of South Telegraph Road, officials said.

Investigators believe the man’s 37-year-old wife stabbed him after the couple had a disagreement, according to the release.

Deputies arrested the woman and booked her into the Monroe County Jail.

Officials are withholding the woman’s name pending her formal arraignment in Monroe County First District Court for assault with intent to cause serious bodily injury, less than murder, according to the release.

“We want to commend the staff at Monroe County Central Dispatch for being diligent and not just accepting that the victim was uncooperative in sending the appropriate services to resolve the situation and provide medical care,” MCSO said in communicated.

MCSO’s Uniformed Services Division is still investigating the case. Officials ask that anyone with information about the incident call (734) 240-7743.

The incident was reported days later to Redford Township police custody a suspect in a fatal shooting inside a man.

Warren police, too custody another woman accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend that day.
