A 44-year-old Singaporean permanent resident died in an accident along Malaysia’s North-South Expressway in the early hours of Wednesday, October 31.

The woman, Chang Lee Won, was killed on the spot.

She was traveling with her husband, a Singaporean, as well as their two sons, aged 16 and 19, during the Deepavali holidays.

He was believed to be going to KL

Shin Min Daily News reported that the family was believed to have traveled to Chang’s hometown in Kuala Lumpur when the accident happened around 5am.

They were traveling in a Hyundai Starex.

The husband and 16-year-old son were slightly injured, while the 19-year-old son and the Malaysian driver were seriously injured.

The Malaysian driver and Bangladeshi passenger in the other vehicle, a Toyota Unser, sustained minor injuries.

Yong Peng rescue personnel were alerted to the incident at 5:04 a.m. and the operation lasted about an hour and a half.

Conformable Shin Mina neighbor of the family said the younger son is in Secondary 4, while the older son had just joined national service.

The neighbor added that the family would occasionally visit relatives in Malaysia during long vacations.
