Jason Kelce throws away phone over F-Slur incident at Penn State

New Orleans Saints - Kansas City Chiefs

Talk about an offensive line, man. He was there for ESPN’s College GameDay, but Jason Kelce wasn’t playing when he got hurt during a visit to Penn State University on Saturday. In now-viral recordsthe retired Philadelphia Eagles football player picked up a phone and threw it to the ground after someone called his brother Travis, the bastard for dating taylor swift. Using a homophobic slur is already bad enough, and using it to describe a man dating a woman is just plain weird. The video doesn’t clearly show the person who yelled the slur, but Kelce seemed to think the culprit was someone wearing a Penn State hoodie who was filming it. For not letting the comment slide, Kelce initially received widespread praise online, including from fans of his possible future sister-in-law. “He did all this with a garage beer in his hand and a friendship bracelet on his wrist, this man needs a medal,” one Swiftie he tweeted approvingly. But reactions became a bit more mixed after another angle of the incident surfaced, this time apparently showing Kelce continuing to say the slur right away — as the person in the Penn State hoodie tried to retrieve his phone, Kelce appears to ask, “Who’s crazy now?”

Given that Kelce’s New heights podcast with his brother only landed a $100 million deal in August, we doubt he’d be breaking a sweat even if he had to pay for any damage to the device. Campus police said “Page Six” that an incident report had not been filed as of Saturday afternoon. Honestly, it’s probably easier to buy a new phone than to identify yourself as the new Internet enemy of the day.
