Google is highlighting some new updates that web surfers can use in its Chrome browser.

According to one Post with keywordsGoogle launches a “Performance Detection” tool that continuously looks for ways to improve your browsing experience. The company says this tool will appear as a “Problem Alert” next to your account icon. When this alert appears, Chrome will indicate which tabs need attention.

Chrome will bring these alerts to your attention when it senses that other tabs are taking up too much memory.

Google says users can click “Fix Now” and the browser will do the rest. Users can disable this tool by accessing their browser settings.

Elsewhere, the post states that Chrome is getting more customization for its performance-focused features. Now users can decide which websites should remain active (even when in the background). Indicators for inactive tabs and information about memory usage when hovering can be disabled.

On the customization side, Google highlighted three new modes for Chrome “Memory Saver.” The memory freeing feature takes the following options: Moderate, Balanced, and Maximum. Each mode gets more aggressive based on how Chrome sees the situation. Google says the “Moderate” mode will disable tabs based on your computer’s needs.

The “Balanced” option will take into account your computer’s memory and your actions in Chrome, while “Maximum” is much faster at drawing to disable an inactive tab.

Since then, Google has continued to focus on the performance of its browser Memory Saver has debuted in 2022. The feature was simple as it automatically pulled memory used in other inactive tabs to the ones you were actively using. It was designed to improve browser performance and your computer because more available memory means your multitasking goes smoothly.

In addition, the company presented its memory usage tab information in 2023 to join the Memory Saver feature. This gave users a quick and easy way to see which tabs had taken up all their memory so they could discard them. The update that Google is preparing to roll out to Chrome is likely one that removes visual clutter and helps users streamline their experience.
