OTISFIELD — A concert and cornhole tour to raise awareness and support for victims of sex trafficking, sexual assault and sexual violence will be held Sunday, June 16, at Field of Faith in Lodge Hill, 437 Bean Road.

Venue co-owner Ken Hawley said, “Our goal for this event and Field of Faith is to bring our community together to encourage, enjoy, unite and make a positive difference in the world we share.”

The venue will open at 3.30pm and the family-friendly cornhole competition will feature 12 teams of two to six people each. Registration can be done by email at [email protected] or at the event. The fee is $25 per team.

Hawley said 100 percent of the money raised and/or donated will be split equally between Safe Voices of Lewiston and Just Love Worldwide of Westbrook.

Headquartered in Lewiston, Safe Voices provides shelter and support services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual trafficking and exploitation in Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties. Services include individual safety planning, support groups, information and referral, court advocacy, shelter transportation and lodging, community education and job training, according to its website. safevoices.org.

Westbrook-based Just Love Worldwide is a survivor-led nonprofit working to end sexual exploitation and trafficking by reaching out to survivors, educating communities and advocating for stronger legal protections, according to its website, justloveworldwide.org.

Executive Director Tricia Grant is a survivor of domestic child sex trafficking who educates and mentors youth and adults in large, one-on-one groups about the reality of human trafficking and exploitation, according to the website. As a survivor-leader, she consults with safe houses across the country. She works with first-time sex buyers, facilitating groups of offenders as a diversion program in Maine. She’s sharing her story in hopes that it will help others understand that trafficking can happen to anyone anywhere and prevent victims from waiting 16 years to speak up like she did.

Grant will attend the fundraiser, share her story and provide information and materials for attendees.

After the tour, an evening of worship, stories and songs will begin at 6:00 p.m. The concert will feature the duo of Dave Pettigrew and Ross King.

Pettigrew is a worship leader, recording artist, author, husband and father from New Jersey. He and his band have opened for and toured with Christian music artists including Mercy Me, For King & Country, Jeremy Camp, Big Daddy Weave, Sidewalk Prophets, Michael W.
