Garth Brooks says Trisha Yearwood ‘pushing’ for Ireland house amid sexual assault scandal

Garth Brooks revealed that he and wife Trisha Yearwood are considering moving from Nashville to Ireland amid allegations that he sexually assaulted her former hair and makeup artist.

“She (Trisha) is actually pushing for the house in Ireland,” Garth, 62, said in response to a fan who mentioned during an episode of Inside Studio G that the Grammy winner has also talked about moving to the Emerald Isle. “I think the last time (in Ireland) she fell in love with the country. You know, we went over there and played two weekends, so we went around the country at that point. Everyone was so nice to her.”

The news comes just weeks after a woman accused the “Friends in Low Places” singer of sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit she filed under the pseudonym “Jane Roe.” The woman filed the papers in a California state court on Oct. 3, according to court documents obtained by In Touch. She alleged that Garth raped her during a business trip in 2019 and that he repeatedly exposed her genitalia, discussed inappropriate sexual fantasies, changed clothes in front of her regularly and sent her sexually explicit text messages.

The “When the Thunder Rolls” artist previously denied the claims made by Jane and filed her own lawsuit in an attempt to prevent her from speaking publicly about the allegations.

“(Jane’s) allegations are not true. (Jane) is well aware, however, of the substantial and irreparable damage such false accusations would do to (Garth’s) well-earned reputation as a decent and caring person, along with the inevitable damage to his family and the irreparable damage to his career its. and the livelihoods that would result if he followed through on his threat to ‘publicly file’ the invented lawsuit,” the lawsuit states.

Garth initially filed his suit under the name John Doe in an attempt to ensure confidentiality and claimed that Jane threatened to assassinate his character by “publicly airing such repulsive and untrue allegations”. He also claimed that Jane revealed her plans to file the lawsuit, but that she said she wouldn’t see it through if he agreed to pay her millions.

While Garth claimed to have provided the woman with as much financial assistance as he could, he denied her request to become a salaried employee with medical benefits. The “Ain’t Goin’ Down (’til the Sun Comes Up)” singer asked the court to rule that Jane’s allegations are untrue and sought damages for the emotional distress she caused her.

A few days after Jane’s lawsuit became public, he filed an amendment to his complaint. In amendment, Garth revealed the name of his accuserwhich she later slammed him for doing it.

“Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a rape victim,” the alleged victim’s attorney said in a statement to Us Weekly on Oct. 8. “Without any legal justification, Brooks brought it up because he believes the laws don’t apply to him. . On behalf of our client, we will immediately file for maximum sanctions against him.”

Jane too wrote a letter to the judge and demanded that Garth be sanctioned for revealing her name to the public. She also claimed the CMA award winner’s only reason for revealing her name was to “retaliate, hurt and subject her to victim shaming and blaming.”

“Mr. Doe exposed Ms. Roe’s identity out of revenge and with the intent to injure Ms. Roe, knowing that she refused to hide from his threatening behavior, and commenced the claims against him as he said he would all along.” , Jane’s lawyers later said in a statement.
