LGA poll: Don’t brutalize voters Saturday only – IPAC warns security agencies

The Abia State chapter of the Inter-Party Consultative Council, IPAC, has warned security agencies against subjecting voters to any form of brutality during the November 2 local government elections in Abia State.

The Chairman of IPAC in Abia, Nelcin Uluocha, stated this on Thursday in Umuahia after the signing of a peace pact by political parties in the state.

Uluocha, who is also the chairman of the Youth Progressive Party, YPP, in Abia, Abia State, said a situation where voters are manipulated would not be tolerated.

He also rebuked the member representing Aba North Aba South Federal Constituency, Alex Ikwuechegh, for the way he treated Bolt Driver, saying his organization condemned the rep’s nasty behavior in full.

Uluocha advised the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, to institute disciplinary action to address the behavior of its members.

He also said Governor Alex Otti does not interfere in the functions of the Abia State Independent Electoral Commission, ABSIEC and therefore called on Abia voters and political parties to be peaceful during Saturday’s election.
