A man has died after being struck by a car that left the scene, police said

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in South Jersey last week, and police on Monday said they were still looking for the driver who left him for dead.

The 58-year-old man, who has not been identified, was struck around 7:20 p.m. Oct. 25 in Hammonton near the intersection of South White Horse Pike and Lakeview Avenue, according to a statement from the Hammonton Police Department . He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car last seen leaving the scene was a white 2014 BMW 328 4-door sedan with front-end damage, specifically to one of the headlights or fog lights, investigators said. The car was last seen traveling east on White Horse Pike.

Anyone with information about the crash or who saw a vehicle matching this description was asked to contact the department.
