Thefts in Ontario cities lead to charges for two men from Mississauga and one from Brampton

Two Mississauga men and a Brampton man are facing theft charges in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents in a pair of southwestern Ontario cities.

The three men were arrested Wednesday shortly after they were spotted by staff at a retail store in Goderich, located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Friday.

Police said store staff recognized the men as having previously been in the same store. Two men were arrested a short time later and a third suspect was found by police after a short search.

Police began their investigation on November 12 into thefts from retail stores in both Goderich and Exeter, about 50 kilometers southeast of the former.

“Three people were caught on video surveillance after leaving the stores with stolen goods,” police said.

Antoni Dolinski, 35, Mateusz Sokolowski, 28, both of Mississauga, and Armando Dolinski, 43, of Brampton, are each charged with theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

They were detained and later released. They are scheduled to appear in Goderich court at a later date.

Anyone with information regarding this ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Huron County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
