Mountain View barber on the loose, accused of sexually assaulting unconscious victims

(KRON) — Investigators say a Mountain View barber is on the run after being accused of sexually assaulting unconscious victims.

Santa Clara County prosecutors described Franklin Enrique Sarceno Orla, 34, as a “serial sexual predator” who targeted men. Orla filmed many of his victims while he committed sex crimes, according to prosecutors.

“Sarceno Orla fled and law enforcement is also seeking information on his whereabouts,” prosecutors wrote Wednesday. “Evidence collected by police shows that the fugitive may have assaulted at least 20 different men who appear to be passed out and/or severely intoxicated.”

Barber was initially arrested by Mountain View Police Department officers in August 2024. He posted $250,000 bail and was released from custody.

The barber fell under the police radar when a victim reported Orla in July. One victim said he passed out, and when he woke up, he was groggy and injured after being sexually assaulted, investigators said. A second victim, who said Orla was his barber, told police he suddenly passed out while they were drinking beer together.

MVPD police suspect the barber assaulted 20 different men over the past six years. Police are currently in the process of identifying the victims in the videos. The victims appeared to be unconscious or heavily intoxicated during the attacks, prosecutors said.

District Attorney Jeff Rosen said, “With the help of the brave victims, investigators and the public, we will soon have him in custody so he doesn’t hurt anyone again.”

Orla is accused of sexually assaulting two men, including a victim who was kidnapped.

If convicted, Orla could face life in prison. The Santa Clara County Prosecutor’s Office did not name the business where he worked as a barber.

Authorities said anyone who may have been victimized by Orla should contact police and their doctor to be tested for sexually transmitted diseases.
