Huntsville Twin Peaks Murder Suspect Jeremiah Matkins Out on Bail

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Waffle) – The one man accused of shooting and killing another man at Huntsville Twin Peaks he was released on bail, according to officials.

Jeremiah Matkins is accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Ray’shun Markelle Bates of Decatur in a Nov. 9 incident.

Matkins was arrested on November 10 and charged with murder. He was initially booked into the Madison County Jail on $50,000 bond. Court documents reveal Matkins’ bond was later raised to $100,000.

Court documents state Matkins has a preliminary hearing set for Dec. 4, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in Madison County Court.
