(CNS): A 21-year-old man from Bodden Town is due to appear in court today charged with theft, even though he fled the scene before taking something from undisclosed business premises. The suspect was disturbed on the morning of November 14 as he attempted to enter the premises with a crowbar. Police said the homeowner arrived at work early that morning and saw the masked man trying to enter. When the thief saw the owner, he ran on foot, then got into a car and drove away.

It was later found that the door the suspect used to enter the premises was damaged, but police gave no indication that anything was stolen. Shortly after the incident was reported, police found the vehicle the suspect allegedly used to flee the scene. The Bodden Town man was arrested and police also found an undisclosed amount of ganja.

He was charged with burglary, property damage and drug offences.
