Both Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Congress National President M Mallikarjun Kharge is also aware of when the CM will resign, he said. He termed Siddaramaiah’s recent reported statement that he will continue as CM for the entire term as an attempt to garner votes from certain communities for the November 13 by-polls to three Assembly segments.

“The prime minister, who is accused, is patting himself on the back. He is trying to instill confidence in the legislators (Congress) that he will continue as CM, but Siddaramaiah knows what the truth is.

DK Shivakumar and Mallikarjun Kharge know when he will resign,” Vijayendra said. Talking to reporters here, he said at the time of elections, to get the support of certain communities, such statements are made.

“I don’t know if it is right or not to say this repeatedly, but the resignation of the prime minister has already been decided,” he added. The opposition demanded Siddaramaiah’s resignation following the allegations against him in the MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority) case.

There was also behind-the-scenes political activity within the ruling Congress last month, with several ministers in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet holding closed-door meetings, fueling speculation of a leadership change.

But such activities have stopped following instructions from the party high command. Stating that the stand of the Congress government and the Chief Minister on the Waqf issue and their conduct are being questioned by the people and farmers of the state, Vijayendra said they should have responded to the problems faced by the farmers. “But on CM’s insistence, Zameer Ahmed Khan (Waqf Minister) has taken the lead in grabbing land from farmers, its implications will be felt in the polls,” he said.

People of the state are questioning the CM’s “anti-farmer attitude”, conspiracy to loot lands and properties of Mutts and “anti-Hindu behaviour” of this government, he further said. “All this will become a curse for the Congress government and people will turn against them. Let there be no doubts”. Vijayendra expressed confidence of BJP winning in Sandur and Shiggaon Assembly segments and his alliance partner JD(S) emerge victorious in Channapatna.

The three segments will be voted on by polls on November 13. “The Prime Minister and the ministers are somewhat aware that the Congress will lose all the three segments…” he claimed.
