The Career Center helps cover the new CDL program

MERCER, Pa. (WKBN) — A new program has launched at the Mercer County Career Center (MCCC).

Those interested in obtaining a commercial driver’s license (CDL) can now go through the school with its new partnership with CNB Wagner Enterprise.

The program has been in the making for over a year as MCCC noticed a greater need for CDL licensed drivers in the area. Six students have already completed the new program.

“CNB Wagner’s training program is designed to assist adult learners with busy lives as it promotes flexibility in theoretical training and allows for a condensed driving and test portion that achieves a high rate of successful completion,” Assistant Director/Education continues MCCC Coordinator Aaron Kline said in a press release.

After completing an online course, students will complete the behind-the-wheel portion of the program in a one-week, 40-hour section that combines training and testing at MCCC.

Funding is available to help with training costs. To sign up or find more information, visit MCCC website.
