Woman involved in crash after having medical emergency on I-635

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – A Kansas City woman is believed to have suffered only minor injuries after having a medical emergency while driving Saturday night.

Just after 18:00 on November 16, the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the crash on I-635 southbound 15 feet south of Kansas Avenue.

According to KHP, a 66-year-old woman had an undisclosed medical emergency while driving in the first lane of I-635 and stopped. A 30-year-old Parkville man driving behind her couldn’t stop in time and hit the back of her Ford Mustang.

The second driver was not injured in the crash, but his car was towed from the scene.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with what KHP reported were possibly minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
