Official Taylor v Serrano scorecards revealed as Irish fighter responds to robbery claims

Katie Taylor produced another brave and ultimately victorious performance in the ring to defeat Amanda Serrano at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Friday night, a result that left the home crowd – and many spectators – seriously unhappy.

Despite the Irishwoman being cautioned and docked a point for leading with her head during the fight, she came away with a points win after the judges awarded scores of 95-94 on all three cards.

The home support turned heavily on Serrano, who suffered a serious cut over his eye, with Taylor’s shots met with boos as well as the final score.

Many, including some on commentary, were between displeased and shocked that Taylor emerged victorious – or rather that Serrano was on the losing end of the results – leading Taylor to speak in her post-fight press conference to says he doesn’t have feelings about what people were saying anyway, given that she was the one strapped in front of her.

“I knew they (Serrano’s team) were complaining about the decisions, but I really don’t care,” she said. “I’m sitting here again victorious, I fought her twice, I beat her twice, all the judges agreed, so I really couldn’t care less what was said about the fight.

“I’m sitting here again, 2-0 against Serrano and I’m very happy.”

Pressed on whether she would go again for a third fight against the same opponent, Taylor left it open to Serrano, stating, “If he wants to, I have no problem doing it again.”

The result was a disappointment to some, based on the fact that Serrano took far more hits: more than 100 more, according to the data. CompuBoxwith a higher landing percentage of their respective totals thrown and 46 strikes to nine, also in favor of Serrano.

However, the referees’ cards gave the same result either way – victory for Taylor by a point – to leave the home side bitterly disappointed, though certainly more entertained. than by what followed.
