St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School has officially risen through the ranks after the education watchdog paid a visit in October.

Inspectors found the school, which is part of Emmaus Catholic Multi Academy Companybe “Good” in each of the inspection areas.

The report states that students “enjoy learning” and know who to turn to if they have a problem which “helps them feel safe”.

Staff were found to “care deeply” and have “high expectations” of everyone who attends the school, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.

The McKean Road the school was described as a “calm and purposeful” place where students are “well behaved” both in lessons and at social times.

Inspectors concluded that the school had addressed issues raised in its last inspection in 2022 “strategically and with great enthusiasm”.
