‘We’re watching you’ – Fargo landscaping workers accused of looking through women’s windows

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Local women in a Fargo apartment are frustrated after they alerted authorities that employees of a landscaping company were either threatening them or looking through their windows.

According to the police, Outdoor Concepts is under investigation after receiving a report of an employee looking through a woman’s window at an apartment complex on 44th Avenue.

Women now live in a constant state of fear and have begun detailing the exact moments their privacy was breached.

“When I got out of the shower, I dried off, hung my towel on the door and looked over it and said, ‘My blinds are open!’ I should probably close them. I went and there he was with his nose at my window,” said one woman.

Not only did she look through the windows, the man threatened her in the face.

“I had a guy pull up in a white truck that said Outdoor Concepts and he said, ‘You’ve got to watch your back,’ and I said … why? He says, ‘Because we’re after you and your baby,'” another tenant said.

An anonymous person posted on social media about incidents like these, which has over 100 comments with women detailing similar interactions.

Outdoor Concepts told police they are aware of the issue and if it continues the employee will be fired because “I drive company vehicles and it reflects on the entire company.”

For women, they feel as if nothing is being done.

One said: “The police have said we will increase security…said they need to have more officers in the area and it’s still not happening.”

With nothing happening in their eyes from the police or property management company, they now take it into their own hands.

“We are forced to take this to work with us. We leave work early, I had to go buy motion lights, I had to go buy cameras, I had to go buy mace. My funder stays up for seven hours to make sure it’s safe for me to even leave my house,” the woman said.

“Everywhere I go, I have the gun now. I go to the grocery store, take out the trash, and he’s with me. It’s not fair.”

It’s not fair and they don’t feel safe, they band together to protect themselves. “We walk each other to and from our cars. It’s dark outside, we have children.”

Valley News Live called Outdoor Concepts for a statement, in which they abruptly shut down as soon as we identified ourselves as a news outlet. I visited their store and no one answered.

At this time, Fargo Police have not identified any employees or made any arrests.
