Burglary victim arrested at home after police found drugs during 911 response: ‘Should have hidden his cocaine’

A Florida man was arrested last week after his home was broken into and attacked for leaving his drugs out in the open, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said Thursday.

Judd, who posts a short “morning briefing” video on his Facebook page almost every day, shared how 59-year-old victim Everett Brown he ended up in prison himself after calling 911 for help.

Brown, who lives in the Frostproof area, was being harassed by a group of juveniles, according to Judd.

He was booked into jail on November 5 and released on November 9 after posting $5,000 bail.

“Mr. Everett didn’t deserve to have his house broken into and beaten by this thug, but he should have hidden his cocaine before calling 911,” Judd captioned the video.
