A Somerville man was jailed after an attempted burglary

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (Waffle) – A Somerville man was arrested after he allegedly tried to steal items from one car and damaged another.

The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a home on New Cut Road in the Massey area on Sunday for an attempted burglary.

After taking the report, deputies looked around the area and were flagged down by two people on Highway 55 as someone else was lying on the ground.

When deputies attended to that person, identified as 29-year-old Dylan Peck, they said he admitted to being high on meth and attempted to steal items from a vehicle. Deputies said Peck also admitted to damaging another vehicle.

After Peck was medically cleared, he was booked into the Morgan County Jail and charged with theft. Additional charges may apply.

His bond is set at $2,500.
