PITTSBURGH–The Pittsburgh Steelers prepare to battle the Baltimore Ravens after a thrilling win against the Washington Commanders. Among the plays made in this game, new acquisition Mike Williams caught the game winner 32-yard touchdown. Russell Wilson recently expressed his faith in his receivers.

On Thursday, local reporters asked Wilson about the upcoming matchup with the Ravens. While he acknowledged the Ravens defense has play factors, he is confident they can go toe-to-toe with Baltimore.

“Yeah, I think we can definitely get points and do some special things. We have a great defense, we trust each other as a team and everything else. We just have to play one play at a time.” Wilson said of the prospect of the Steelers’ matchup with Baltimore.

At the trade deadline, the Steelers acquired wide receiver Mike Williams from the New York Jets. After playing Sunday, Wilson was asked about Williams’ progress in getting it acclimatized to crime.

“Yeah, Mike (Williams) was great. He’s smart, he’s good at it, he’s a professional. I have a lot of great guys around them. Love that room, all the hard work they put in every day is really special. So Mike is a great addition for us.” Wilson told reporters.

It’s not the first time Wilson has expressed his excitement not just for Williams, but for his entire receiving room. In a recent interview with ESPN’s Hannah Stormhe highlighted the “special gifts” of his wide receiver room.

“I think we’ve got a lot of talent at the position right now..Obviously, Van Jefferson has done an amazing job, you know, his ability to make great catches so far..We’ve got some guys that have played big football. You know guys like Scotty Miller who caught a big game for Tom Brady.” Wilson told Storm about his receivers. Wilson even sees similarities in his current room from his previous stops.

“Calvin Austin, I mean, he reminds me a lot of Tyler Lockett…both similar personalities. Unbelievable guys. Humble, but just work their tail off every day.” Wilson said brightly of Austin. Of course, his main receiver was a simple description.

Steelers wide receiver George Pickens

George Pickens he’s a freak of nature.” Wilson said of Pickens.

In his interview with the Storm, there is one quote that stood out among the others when he talked about his receiver room as a whole.

“They got some special gifts.” Wilson said of his receivers.

Many wrote off this wide receiver room even with the acquisition of Mike Williams. While they may not be the group that Antonio Brown’s “Young Money” recipients Emmanuel Sanders and Mike Wallace are, they are a group that Wilson believes in and works hard every day. It also helps to have a Super Bowl-winning quarterback to step up his game.
