Neighbors live in fear, suspected in series of sexual assault cases along W. Gulf Bank remains at large, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A woman shares her survivor’s story, saying that although time has passed since she was raped by a man she had never met before, it feels like it happened today.

Eyewitness News is protecting her identity as she continues to live in fear. She told ABC13 that Denzeill Sneed, 29, sneaked into her home and attacked her.

Sneed is accused of multiple incidents of sexual assault in the West Gulf Bank area and has been arrested, but is not believed to have acted alone, according to an update from the Houston Police Department.

Seeing Sneed’s photo brought the victim to tears. She told Eyewitness News she’s glad he was caught and hopes he gets the full extent of the law.

She is one of at least five victims in this northwest Houston area. Police documented that one happened in August, three in October and one in November, which was on a Friday.

Police said an investigation into Sneed also determined a second suspect was likely responsible for some of the five reported sexual assault incidents.

HPD said the other four attacks happened at 5454 West Gulf Bank, 5300 West Gulf Bank and 5350 West Gulf Bank.

Authorities said Sneed was charged with theft with intent to commit sexual assault for an Aug. 14 incident. Additionally, he is also identified as the suspect seen in surveillance video released by HPD on November 8th.

Surveillance video captured accused rapist Sneed leaving the home of another victim on Friday. His bail was set at $200,000 Thursday morning and he was charged with two separate rapes of two different women.

The second unknown suspect is described as a black man in his 20s and is believed to be armed. Investigators say the second suspect is accused of forcing his way into the women’s apartments wearing a ski mask and raping them at gunpoint.

Neighbors live in fear of the unknown as the second accused serial rapist is on the loose in an area they call home.

“I’m like, ‘What’s going to happen? Are they going to try to bomb me in the house?” It’s just scary, really,” said one resident.

One victim shared her heart, saying she lives in fear. She told ABC13 she’s glad the man accused of raping and robbing her in her own home is finally behind bars.
