Nice and cool conditions are setting in

(WALA) – Cold air has returned, at least overnight for the Gulf Coast. There is a dry air mass. That means we’ll see cooler weather at night and sunshine every day.

Afternoons should be comfortable with daytime highs in the low to mid 70s as we head into the weekend.

Our next chance of rain should last until Tuesday of next week. This is fall weather to enjoy.

In the tropics, we are tracking Tropical Storm Sara, which is stalling along the northern coast of Honduras. We are concerned about the potential for catastrophic flooding and mudslides there as the system slowly moves along the northern coast of Honduras. Finally, what’s left of the system should cross the Yucatán and enter the Gulf of Mexico next week. Some of this moisture could enhance precipitation in our area through Tuesday of next week along the surface front.

We’ll keep watching and let you know if we see any changes.
