FORT MCDOWELL, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people, including a child, were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash east of Vale early Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened around noon, in the southbound direction State Road 87 (Beeline Highway) at milepost 202 near Fort McDowell.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a van overturned on the right side of the highway.

Two people were seriously injured in the impact, including a child. Both were rushed to a Valley hospital.

DPS says SR 87 is closed while officers investigate. Check back for updates.
