Man charged for shoplifting over two weeks in Coseley

A man was arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a weapon after a shop in Coseley was targeted over a two-week period.

West Midlands Police confirmed a 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with seven counts of theft and possession of a knife after he was arrested on Central Drive in Coseley on Tuesday.

He was taken into police custody and was due to appear at Walsall Crown Court on Thursday.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We have charged a suspect with theft after a shop in Coseley was targeted several times over the past two weeks.

“The 37-year-old man was yesterday charged with seven counts of theft and possession of a knife after he was apprehended in the Central Drive area on Tuesday.

“He remained in police custody overnight before appearing at Walsall Crown Court today (Thursday).”
